We have always loved and owned large breed dogs and have had many Labradors as part of our family through the years. The one who really 'sealed the deal' for us to pursue breeding, however, was our beloved Trigger (the white/yellow Lab in the above photo). He was perfect in every way but was taken much too soon by an aggressive cancer. He met the beloved Labrador Retriever characteristics in so many ways and we always talked about breeding him but never did, a regrettable decision!
We are now a small family breeder of AKC registered, health tested Labrador Retrievers of all colors, including dilute colors. (We have owned every color through the years!)
Most of our Labradors are a blend of English style build and American style. We love the size and stockiness of the English line but also the agility and lean muscular build on the Americans. This is personal preference to our likes and lifestyle!
As you may have read on our home page, we love hunting, fishing, outdoors, and working/interacting with our dogs - and while Louisiana is far from perfect, we love its culture, food, and our roots! "Louisiana Labradors" is a fitting name for us.
Our puppies are nurtured and socialized in a loving home environment to prepare them for new families. Our adult dogs and puppies are both exposed to exercise and training to give them quality purposeful lives. This varies from hunting, AKC titling, family companion activities or simply in home obedience training.
Additionally, we invest in high quality fresh raw food nutrition to give our pups a sound foundation.
With a Certified Raw Dog Food Nutrition Specialist on our team, we also offer customized canine nutrition recipes to those seeking to feed their own furry family member this way!
(Many common health issues Labradors and other breeds develop can frequently be food related (or injury/other environmental cause related) rather than hereditary.
Various research shows that even if a dog carries genetics for a certain health issue, their diet may be the ultimate factor in whether that health issue develops and actually causes symptoms.)
